Hero is the story of a criminal transforming and evolving as a good person under the influence of love. Jackie is a baddie with a heart of gold though, who has to settle scores with the area's 'Thakur' and his police officer son Sanjeev Kumar. So he opts for kidnapping their soft spot, Radha, Thakur khandaan's only daughter. Radha is given to understand that Jackie and his gang are police people who have taken her away to the safety of jungles because their house has been invaded by dacoits. The rest of the story is about the gang's camaraderie with Radha in sylvan spots and the discovery of truth by Radha.

He then kidnaps Shrikanth's daughter Radha. He tells her that he is a police officer; they fall in love, and she finds out that he is a goon. Nevertheless, she does not leave him, but urges him to surrender. He goes and surrenders to the police, and he is imprisoned for two years. Back home, Radha tells her brother Damoder the whole truth. To keep Radha from getting married to somebody else, he calls his friend Johnny to put on a show that Radha and Johnny love each other. Johnny misunderstands and actually falls in love with Radha. When Jackie comes back, he starts working in a garage and trying to reform himself. Despite everything, Shrikanth kicks him out of his life. After many days and events that follow, Damador finds out that Johnny is a drug smuggler. After getting released from prison, Pasha desires revenge against both Shrikanth and Jackie, so he kidnaps Radha, Shrikanth and Damoder. The question remains: What will happen to them? Will Jackie be able to save them from Pasha's clutches.
