interesting. Clearly English production (despite being done under the name of BBC4Cymru)..misogynous-the womens' roles are all created as twits, victims or, for any strong ones, Evil..Ummm, I think we have a problem here..
Also all things Welsh are treated with disdain, the standard English prejudices we thought they'd grown up and gotten clearer about..dirty, crooked, against the shining blond Emglish etc etc as are frequent racist references in passing re the various knights.
Definitely repressed male homosexual slant, all the good guys who come through and are worth knowing etc etc, the REAL friends...
and, last but not least, underscores the inevitability of class, hazing, and priviledge giving lipservice to the injustice but well, that's the way things are and "probably for a right good reason"..
So..English, and blind.

But the battles scenes are great (what keep me hooked is the good sword fighting routines) , beautiful scenery, pretty costumes and swirling cloaks, and less blood all over the place and close up torture than the 'Muricans always go in for since these last years..
and one thing that is excellent is the daring to mix up the racial stereotypes in the main characters casting, unheard of in the various interpretations of these myths. For that they get kudos absolutely (but why do they fall back into the worst cases of it in the other characters??This IS 2012, not 1950....)
